Alfian Sa'at, a local writer and poet wrote something about the above on his website which I particularly like and his piece also reflects on issues that some here may recognise all too well. I'm posting it here as we have a fair number of locals on this board.

I don't know if his writing is meant to be fictitious but the one about the girl certainly reminded me of a journalist here. Don't know who the boy could be referring to though.
