Post by nirsinay » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 2:15 am

we are looking on migrating to singapore.
however my wife is 16 weeks pregnant and i cant find any information on the web for this type of case.

are there any limitations i should be looking on? will we be able to give birth in a public hospital or all costs will have to be paid by us?

im really desperate as i cant find any information on the web

Thanks,
nir

I would ask one question. Why would you expect to come to Singapore and have someone else pick up the cost of having your baby?

Related info.

Contact the ICA directly for more information.

Hi, I think if your wife is on employment/dependent's pass, no special permit is needed. However foreigners are not eligible for government subsidy in hospitals and have to pay the A class fees, so that public hospital charges will work out to be nearly same as private. I have seen in other forums that most insurance companies in Singapore pay for the antenatal care only if you have been their client for 1 year or so.
