affordable housing?

Post by x14pro » Fri, 13 Oct 2006 2:11 pm

Hi!

I've been browsing the forums and I've noticed how helpful most of you guys are to newbies like me. Hope you could also help me.

I would be relocating with my wife and kid (3 months old) in November. My office is located at bukit timah rd (alfa centre). My budget is only S$2,000.

Given this budget, would i be able to get a 2/3 bedroom condo which is centrally located or would i have to look towards the outskirts? If so, is there any unit you'd recommend?

I'll be doing my look-see somewhere in the next two weeks, was hoping to be armed with a little bit of knowledge.

Any adivice/comment is highly welcome! :D

yep, check out the website given by ciotog. 6th ave is a pretty long stretch of road and there are some old private apartments which might have something that suit your budget.

kaurikid suggested upper bukit timah which is also a good choice.

saw a few ads in the papers eg recently.

a) The Hillside - 3 + 1 rms, partial furn - $2 K 1312 sq ft.
b Hume Park 3 + 1 rms, fully furn - $1.8 k
both at upper bt.

also check out maplewoods which is listed on this website (property pictures) on the main page. 2 rooms about $2000.

not too familar with the condos along 6th ave but check it out with your agent.

cheers :D

you should get a copy of the Straits Times or Sunday Times when you are here. The Straits Times on Saturday has the most advertisements. look at "district 11 & 21 - bukit timah/newton/clementi pte apts for rent".

For Singapore map, try .
You can search by road names, building names (incl. condo names), postcode, etc.
Also can check distance from one place to another and amenities around a certain address. Quite useful.
