Housing available near American School

Post by chinagirlkim » Wed, 11 Oct 2006 7:32 pm

What types of housing are available near/next to the American school? Those of you that live in that area please advise how you like it.
I know public transport is available and well used so not sure how important it is to be close.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
:D

You don' t have to live near the school, they have an excellent bus service and most kids go by bus there from all over the island (Singapore isn't that big). You would be a long way from the city centre etc if you live up there.

There is a lot of housing up near the American school, to cater for that market. Townhouses/terraces, for certain. Take a look at the property pages on this website.

Chinagirlkim,

There is every kind of accommodation in the Woodlands (the neighborhood near the American School). Large bungalows down to little condos and everything in between. The rents have recently gone up and some people are being forced out, so there are fair number available now or will be soon.

The vast majority of people who send their kids to the American school do not live in the Woodlands. It is close to school, but not really close to anything else (town, airport, business district).
