I believe the "Fix" in the basement of NEX also as a mixing machine.

I can confirm that Handyman Centre is a well stocked "old style" hardware store! It has relocated to Lucky Plaza, 3rd level, 304 Orchard Road. Tels: 6737 7815, 6737 9592. Website: http://www.handymancentre.com.sg
The ladies working there were very helpful and quite entertaining!

jpatokal wrote:Where in Singapore can I find a half-decent hardware store? Even a "Homefix DIY" type of place somewhere around Orchard would be a good start (their homepage hasn't been updated for 6 years and is useless...), but one of those big box Ace's Hardware types would be even better.
Yes, Handyman Centre recently moved from Shaw House to the Lucky Plaza location.
It is small but has lots of items you might not find in the HomeFix DIY stores.

There are also a couple of stores next to each other on the ground floor of the Orchard Towers rear block. next to Jason's.

Edited to correct spelling.

Another vendor that might be useful is Raptor Supplies www.raptorsupplies.com.sg. Looks like they offer delivery of Grainger part numbers other US industrial parts to Singapore.
