Canadian In Singapore on Vacation Looking For a Job

Post by Benjaminzinger » Wed, 04 Oct 2006 1:33 am

I am currently in Singapore on vacation, but trying to make that vacation into an interview tour, as i was advised by someone on this forum on a previous post. I have applied to all of the jobs that i am qualified for that were posted in the Strait Times this past weekend and am trying to fast track the companies to interview me before i go back to Canada [Oct. 14th]. There has been little luck with this. I have also tried to contact any recruitment agencies i can find that help foreign talents find work. Anyone know where a comprhensive listing of recruitment agencies can be found? Anyone have any suggestions for me? I'm running out of time!

I also wanted to ask sundaymorningstaple a question - i made a post in early August in regards to my job search and you told me that you couldnt help me much as Finance was not your field. Upon reading a few of the postings here today i found this post from you [to my surprise]-

"I have spent 14 years as a specialist recruiter here in Singaopre and I am currently a Finance and HR Manager for a group of 6 companies. My company has recently sent out proposals for 11 government contracts, we are already advertising for an additional 40 staff just in case we get a couple of the Contracts. That's how it works here. It's a crapshoot at best."

You have any info and/or job opportunities for me? Please let me know as any help is appreciated. You must have learned a few tricks about the finance industy in your 14 years experience that you can share with me. I have my resume with a photo ready to send you in a heartbeat...

Thanks in advance everyone for any help.
