Black Soot

Post by doctor » Mon, 02 Oct 2006 9:54 am

Hi Peoples...

We're currently living in a landed property close to the train line leading to Malaysia, and also pretty close to one of the highways.

Our problem is omnipresent black dust or soot that seems to settle on surfaces in the house. Walk barefeet and your soles are black within minutes. Walk on a drop of water or in a wet bathroom and the black smudging and grunge thats left on the floor as the soot washes off is seriously disgusting. This is despite mopping twice a day, the stuff keeps coming and its a soul destroying task for the helper to keep atop of. :x

While it seems there can be no solution to this but to keep the whole house sealed up all the time, or move , we are becoming concerned about any health issues. This stuff must be getting into bedding, electronic equipment, not to mention what we are breathing all the time.

Local people here deal with this by closing their houses up all the time, if we did that we may as well move back into a flat, kinda defeats the purpose of living in a landed property.

Does anybody else have this problem ?
