All?
We had an absolutely fabulous time - the jaunt was a breeze under the shade of the trees - and we had great company! Nature was never so close!

Ever so often, monitor lizards cut across our paths - Flocks of egrets, plovers, common sandpipers, whimbrels, greenshanks, redshanks were in abundance throughout the mudflats - dignified grey herons and graceful great egrets nestled in trees by the river while huge water monitor lizards swam in the waters below...

Plantain squirrels frolicked on branches everywhere - the huge estuarine crocodile - the large golden orb web spider - white-breasted waterhen - kingfisher - archer fish, pipe fish - hundreds of mangrove trees, nipah palms, Straits Rhododendrons - Sea Almond, Sea Hibiscus, Sea Poison Trees - Crinum Lilies, Water Hyacinth - the list goes on!

A most educational and exhilarating tryst with Nature -
An absolute must!

*With good binoculars, of course!

Thank you, to the all who turned up! You've been wonderful company!

And the CANDID SNAPSHOT AWARD OF THE DAY goes to... - A lazily-basking monitor lizard we were intent on watching three feet away, was frightened clean away by Greenrover, who was grappling frantically with the branches of a tree, which had tried to grasp his cap as he walked into them. (I had never seen a cap so precious...) We had a close-up look at the monitor lizard and the monitor lizard had a good look at the wild human furiously waving his arms, (It must have figured it would be next in the line of attack...) but Greenrover saw not the startled lizard nor the tip of its tail...

We know you've matches to watch and perhaps branches to attack and lizards to startle, but we hope to see you soon for the continuing saga, Greenrover!
