Anybody Living in Toa Payoh / Novena area

Post by Harold_75 » Tue, 19 Sep 2006 6:40 pm

I am relocating to Singapore in a couple weeks time and I've been looking around for apartments.
Both Toa Payoh and Novena seem to be close enough to the city with cheaper rents, anybody living there that could share their experience of the area?
Thanks

Toa Payoh yes, cheaper, Novena, more expensive. Toa Payoh is more HDB type of area and loads of locals, Novena is more trendy.

Cheers

Near to city?
actually the city isnt that far.

Are u the type who likes to go shopping (orchard road area) every weekends? if yes then tats the city u look for.

if u talkin abt the business district (where u might be working), then there are many other places which is much nearer.

Holland village (an estate in spore) ,or River valler (another estate) is pretty near to the business district, but rental is of course higher.

Think expats might prefer novena, but if u lookin for cheaper local food and other items, then toa payoh might also be a good choice. But not much private apartments (condos) there. there is lots around novena though.
