Hi,

If I have to start a new company in Singapore, what is the kind of investment a foreigner requires. How does the comapny go about managing EP's for the employees?

a) File a new company with the ACRA. Recommeded that you start a private limited as opposed to a sole proprietorship... looks better but not required. Chances improve that you'll get a two year Entre Pass.

b) Within 6 months, sooner is better, file your business plan with MOM to get an Entrepass. Investment is determined on what your business is... but you need to be able to demonstrate how you cover costs of startup and supporting yourself until the business is profitable.

c) EP's are applied for like everyone else. You have to demonstrate that the employee you want to hire cannot be found locally. But, the chances of getting continuing approval for your company are enhanced when you hire local employees.
