Plavt you surprise me. UK is packed with Black and Asian people from what I have read in the papers and also heard from many, many British people. Honestly, I can't get over it. Not every Brit is 'stiff upper lipped' for god's sake. UK is considered a third world country in the continent of Europe, where is the bloody need for being 'stiff upper lipped?' The Americans do not behave, sit or use their cutlery 'differently' at all, where did you learn this from? I agree, AmericansPlavt wrote:Wind In My Hair wrote: Ok now I'm curious. How does one tell the difference just by looking and without waiting to hear the person speak?
Surprised you don't know WIMH, I always thought physiognomy was an ancient Chinese art.Actually there are certain physical characteristics about people that indicate their ethnicity. This is not always possible but I notice the Skin colouring of Korean men is often different from both Chinese and Japanese people. I know a black lady here in London who can easily identify Somalis and other races different to her own. Americans can sometime be identified by their behaviour which is somewhat different to us stiff upper lipped brits. For example they often sit differently and use cutlery a little differently. There are all sorts of little indicators displayed by race or nationality, some you notice some you don't.
Plavt.
have a very different accent to the Brits, but so do the Australians and the Kiwis.
Americans make sure people understand what they say or mean, whereas the Brits have always been deceptive when it comes to interacting with other races. I am shocked to read this especially when it comes from a moderator!
