Anybody out there who could provide me with valuable suggestions?
I'm getting myself a new digital camera. Previously, i've only tried Panasonic brand so wanted to have a change of brand & as well upgrade to higher mega pixels. I'm considering between Canon Ixus 800 & Sony T-10. Any people used either model before? Glad to hear some comments before buying.
My preference for camera: Not too bulky in size, sharp & clear image quality(day & night shooting), long-lasting battery.

These 2 cameras are actually in different categories. The T10 is a "super-slim", while the Canon is a "compact".
Between just those 2, I would pick the canon.
I also suggest reading the camera reviews on places like dpreview.com or doing some reasearch on google.
Here's the IXUS800 review:

Well guys, thanks for your opinion. Today, i've been to some electronic shops to look for both models, tested them on & as well view some reviews from internet when i reached home. Finally, i've set my mind in choosing Canon Ixus 800IS. I do hope i make the right choice.
Do anyone happens to have flickering problem occur on their Canon camera? Because while i'm trying on the Ixus 800IS, i realised this problem. I'm unsure it may be that only particular set having flicker problem or ..? The shop assistant explained that its due to his UV lighting. Hmmm sounds unlikely to me...

Why do u want to switch brands? IMO, panasonic digicams are the best right now. My cybershot wasn't really good.

Canon is where it's at.
I have the Powershot 540 and it's a very sweet little camera.

Well... after several testings on the 3 brands of digicam which are my top choices & learned alot from different sales person on their opinion & suggestion of best digicam. I narrowed down my choices to Panasonic FX01 & Canon Ixus 800. Finally, I've purchased the Canon Ixus 800IS.
Frankly, i've never regretted my choice of choosing Canon. After using it for merely 1 week+, i'm still satisfied with the quality of picture taken & colour as well..

Hi there,
You made the right choice to choose Canon. I use a Canon too, both the IXUS 65 and EOS 100. Happy shooting. : )
Cheers

well glad that you choosen canon.
now that they are one of the biggest name. and after you use it....you will soon fall over for it..esp the colour as it is not too rich of dim. but if you still don't like it...
i guess the last resort is PHOTOSHOP. it will cure all problem!!!

Smart choice for 6.0mp. I currently own a 5.0mp IXUS (IXY) and it produces spectacular images in comparison to Sony or Panasonic.
The image stabilisation (the only problem with the 5.0mp) is supposedly fixed in your model. Let me know how it works indoors and under dense lighting indoors.
I would really appreciate it.
