Some pple go to SIA mayb cos of its attractive uniform? I dont know, don wanna stereotype everyone cos it could be quite subjective for every individual. But personally I'd be happy if i'm given a job I that I like doing. Too bad, i am 2 cm away frm most cabin crew height requirment, 2 cm frm my dream.

YOU GO GIRL...!!! I agree with what jgirl is saying. Babe, don't give up hope. try other airlines which give and take about heights. For example, Emirates takes in anyone who can touch a certain heights. I don't think it's a problem at all if you have a passion in being a cabin crew.

THanks queenie for ur encouragement! I will keep trying though the feeling of being rejected even b4 gng for the interview could b quite demoralizing at times.
Btw, wat are the airlines that recruit Singaporean girls? Those tt I know are SIA, Japan Airlines, Cathay, Emirates.. Other than Emirates, the rest go by 1.58 as a pre requisite.

In my opinion, I will only join SIA cos is my national carrier.
Will not join any other airlines like Emirates, etc even if i am not selected by SQ. Can't imagine myself being based in Dubai, gonna be a sad & miserable life for me when my family & friends are here in Singagpore.
I aways have this concept that girls join other airlines cos they cant get into SQ, then no choice got to settle for the rest.
No offence intended to those planning to join other airlines.
If i'm not wrong, Silkair stewardesses are there with Silkair cos SQ rejected them.
Pls correct me if i'm wrong, perhaps existing or ex SIA stewardessess can enlighten me on that.
I agree with the first statement..I have always loved SIA..
I have a question though..Why do Emirates judge you by how long you can stretch your arm but SIA looks for the height??Those with Long arms stand a preety good chance then if trying for Emirates..
There you go...
another narrow-minded I LOVE SIA wannabes who doesn't know what other airline could bring to them.

Are you trying not to encourage me to be a FA?..Who says I don't know what other airlines can offer??I should be proud of SIA because it is SINGAPORE AIRLINES and it has become a very successful carrier..Aren't you proud of what Singapore has achieved?I just have this love bond with SIA,that's all...I mean no offence,I will definitely try out other airlines...What's your point exactly? If you have anything against me,you can just say it because I don't have anything against you..

As a practical matter, the airlines have a minimum height requirement so that you can close the overhead compartments. I've been on many flights, SIA and others, where the FA could barely reach up to push a heavily loaded compartment closed.

I went for only on FA interview and thats SQ. The moment i went they took my height-156m and they told me i was disqualified for the interview. I believe i have the right attitude and passion for the job, but its kinda disappointing to not even have a chance to go for the interview. From then on, i did not try other airlines ( not cos i love SIA or wat), jus that I feel demoralized. I wonder if I shd keep trying cos i do have a proportionate body and not that I am 'thick-skinned' but my looks are above average and i have a good complexion as well.
Advise frm u guys whoz been to interviews. Shd I jus give up and find something else. is there anyway I can be an FA if im 2cm short? I dont mind any airlines, as long as im given the opp to fly.
