Genetic counseling

Post by AlexandraSG » Tue, 05 Sep 2006 9:24 am

Hello,

does anyone know where to get genetic counseling in Singapore? My husband & I are planning on having a child but because of our age, we thought we should seek a genetic counselor first. Is that available in Singapore? Is it expensive?

Thanks,
Alexandra

I would suggest Angela Ho from CARE at The Paragon.

She is chief embryologist there and does alot of councilling for couples looking into their options for assisted reproduction. She can also do some baseline tests to give you an idea of whether there may be a problem that needs further investigation.

Ph # is 6333 8608

Alternatively you could see an OB/GYN who specialises in fertility issues and there are several in Singapore linked to the various hospitals (each one has its own fertility centre)
Paul Tseng is one of the many OB/GYN's who works with CARE

His number is 6254 2878.

Good luck!
