Family moving to Singapore - Danes

Post by dorteoglarspil » Tue, 05 Sep 2006 4:31 am

We are family of 4 moving to Singapore.

We would like to live nearby other Scandinaviens (danes) in Singapore. Can anyone tell us where other Scandinaviens live and what the typically rent for an apartment in that area is. (4-bedroom)

We hope that you can help us.

I'm not sure, but i believe the Danes are pretty well spread around Singapore, I'm British myself, but lived most of my life in Denmark.

It's probably best to contact the Danish Embassy, they may have a list over everyone here, or can give you more info.

There is a Danish shop here were you can buy Full corn dark bread and a few other Danish goodies. Not many of the Danish know about the shop here! I'll find the address on post it later.

Accomadation varies quite alot, its better if you have an idea of your budget, i guess the Company is covering the cost. some are paying 2500$ some are paying 6000$ depends on many factors. Check out the apartments on the website and the areas.

Yes I believe it is very possible for a condo to that price, the administration of the singaporeexpats website, deal in real estate, so you should drop them a mail. Will your hubby be working in the City or at Harbour Point area? I think most expats are in the Holland village area.
I'm on the east coast, which is also popular. Mind you the MRT undergraound is very good, you can go all around Singapore within 1 hour, so its not really a problem. Transport is very good here!

You may be better off if your company can find you a temp place, while you take a look around, before you settle, there are many nice places to live. You can also drop an email to http://www.thetouch.com.sg/contact/contactus/page1/ The Gallery is Danish owned! I think her name is Jette, not sure now!
