Hi there,

I have been through all my rounds of interviews including my medical checkup in July.

As I am in the Army, I gave them a 4 months notice period and told them that I can only start from the first week of October.

It is already the 12th of September but I have not received any calls from them regarding the training date.

Anyone facing the same situation? I thought they will usually call a month before the training date, none?

Will we be notified if we fail the medical checkup? Hope they won't make us wait forever...

My final interview was on the 4th Sept and i got confirmed on the 11th Sept, it takes sometime for them to process to get u back, normally they will push for those guys who put immediate notice first before processing those who had given notice like a week or a month, etc..

Yup, they will still notify u if u had fail the medical check up..

btw, anyone startin his/her training on the 22th Sept?

We are in the same situation.
If u have the number of Mary, the cabin crew service person, you can call her and let her know you have ORDed. Go down personally to STC and submit or show her ur COS to certify that you have ORDed. You will get a training date then.

That's what one of my friend who have ORD recently did too.
Good luck!

Thanks Rein,

Actually my ORD is on the 6th of October. I still have 3 more weeks to go.

I will go down to STC to look for Mary if she still do not call by then. Btw, are we allowed to just walk into STC like that without any authorisation letter?

Hi Ssszeee, I am not a foreigner but a Singaporean. It is due to my Army liability which is why I have to give a 4 months notice period.

However, I have only a few weeks left before completing my national service and is contemplating on whether I shoud keep on waiting or just look for another job.

I have been waiting so so long and it is really tedious. Sigh... Why can't they just confirm with us first? Make us wait and wait and wait...

No news from SIA...

Post by Awaiting_SIA » Thu, 21 Sep 2006 12:39 pm

Hi people,

Anyone got any recent calls from SIA informing them to start training next month?

I have been waiting for so long since my medical checkup and no call from them.

Called their offoce and I was asked to email them instead. In the end, no reply as well.

Sigh... Anyone here facing the same situation? Do you think we should make a trip down to STC to ask about our training date or just keep on waiting?

If our notice period is too long, is there be a chance that they might forget about us?

To Awaiting_SIA, so they still haven't update you on your application status huh?

I went for my medical 3 weeks ago and some of my batch gals are starting their training in october, but i have yet to receive any calls yet. Now i really regretted stating 3 months notice period.

Precisely.. I am also regreting my decision of putting a notice period of 4 months. I have been waiting for months and I don't even know if I passed my medical checkup or not..

I just hope that they won't reject us because our notice period was too long..

I got a few questions here though..

1)What is the longest time that anyone has ever waited for SIA to call?

2)Will they call to inform you if you fail the medical checkup or will they let you wait forever?

Thanks to any kind soul out there who can clear my doubts...

Hi there~

You waiting for your training date too? When was your medical?

It's no use calling Mary really. I just did and she just told me to wait. Once everything is finalised, then she will call us.

Just make sure your handphone is on a 24-hours standby mode. LoL

You are not allowed to walk in without authorisation.
Mary will arrange a date for you to see her and will process the security clearance with the guard house to let you in.
