Hi there
Just joined this forum as my partner has been offered relocation to Singapore via the bank he works for. We would possibly be moving over in February 2006. I have worked for the past 17 years as a Legal PA/Secretary at senior level and so would be looking for this kind of job (I have no option but to have to work) and I'm wondering how likely it would be to get a secretarial job in Singapore when I don't speak any local language. I understand that for most jobs they need to show that a local wouldn't be able to fulfil your employment role - which doesn't seem that likely as a legal secretary.
Is it possible for English people to get secretarial roles (and thus employment pass) in Singapore? Also, am thinking getting an EPE Certificate to come over with (along with long term social visit pass) - do you know if the six months with these passes starts on arrival in Singapore or from the date they were granted? i.e. should I wait until nearer the time to get one?
Thanks for your help and I'm sure I'll have more questions on the forum!
