Lasik prices dropping immensely...is it true??

Post by Miss Swan » Tue, 29 Aug 2006 3:50 pm

Just early this year I had a colleague who spent 5K on her Lasik operation.
She did it at SNEC I think.

Now I see this:

http://www.lasiksurgeryclinic.com/lasik ... .jsp?id=30
(It's a private clinic so I'll understand if they can actually offer low prices)

I also see this:
http://www.singhealth.com.sg/Internatio ... ndicative/
--> Myopia surgery (LASIK, single eye) USD850 - 1,300 Day Surgery SNEC
That comes up to S$1400-2200/eye

And a friend's friend who had Lasik done paid 1.2K/eye.

Wow! These prices are much lower than my early perceived market average of $2.5K/eye...
Is there something that I'm missing out, or are the prices really dropping?

And since he is a Consultant, I have to pay $1445+ 5 % GST.

Hey that's a good price! Your $1445...that's just for one eye right? If both eyes... only $3K!

Awesome...

Yeah ok lah, actually they told me $1320 over the phone, excluding 5%GST. but when I got there yesterday they mentioned $1445, cos since my degree is too high, they need to use another machine.

I just got back from the check up on the lasered eye n the post op consultation costs me $42.

But you know the feeling is awesome,,,cos I never imagined that from such a high degree,Dr Wee, cld narrow it down so much. :P

Planning for that next year. SNEC's price is comparable to KL's. Especially the wavefront-guided LASIK.
Goatboy will always cherish his former goatgirl.
But the world is full of fluffier ones.
