What field in investment banking are you in? If it's in a hot field then you can find a job in the UK. Remember that over here, they usually expect you to have a work permit to work in the UK already when you apply for a job, unless the company is willing to apply for you on your behalf. Plus you can't apply for one on your own, so it must be a company is willing to sponsor you.
Working in London is tougher. It's busy and everything is expensive. If you are working outside of London then life is much better. It's all personal. I prefer Singapore to London, but I prefer rest of UK to Singapore
