Young christians

Post by Abby113 » Mon, 21 Aug 2006 6:23 pm

Hi everyone...

Thanks for taking time to read this post...

I am looking for a church to go regularly, but don't really have that many christian friends.

Would anyone here like to show me around their churches?

I am 22, so I would like to have a place where there are young adults around.

Thanks and God bless,
Abby

Hi there Abby,

well it depends in which area you are staying and what denomination you are? You will find in Singapore loads of churches that cater to young adults. So it is the large/small, loads of events/less events, more foreigners/more locals type of decision you need to make. given that kind of info, i think i could give you more suggestions. btw i am a youth leader of a local church so i know loads of churches and their 'bents'

cheers
- to them who prevail -

Abbey, new creations :-)
, check out their website, newcreations.com i think?? or just pop by on Sunday you'll see long queues from 7am onwards till 4pm . it's up in the Rock on the 3rd floor? Tower Five????

it's got a fantastic youth ministry called DARE........

Not that I'm a youth , or been with DARE before, but......from the look of the young people...you know the church is not doing too badly with the Youths :-)

good luck!

Hi Abbey,

I'm a regular at Lighthouse. There are branches in Woodlands and Tempinis. The worship there is really fantastic, but more of the family scene. Services on Sinday at 9am, 11am, 4pm(?) and 7pm (?). They also hold healing services on Saturday at 7pm.

I've also attended City Harvest. Massive crowd, mainly young crowd. A little noisy, but very passionate and dynamic. They are based in the Expo Bld. They meet on Saturdays at 7pm, or Sunday at 11am.

There are also very good smaller churches. PM me if you would like to know them. I would need to look them up for you. A friend of mine goes to one near the Redhill Mrt.

Hope you find this helpful! :)

hi abbey,

if you're working,

there is a group of christian working community and business people who gather every thursday for a very intimate session of worship with the Lord.

They are called BBG, business breakthrough group, formed specifically to build businesses for God.

They worship every thursday at an auditorium at Raffles place at 7pm.

Networking is fantastice there too. You'd see many prominant singapore business people.

Let me know if you're keen, can bring u there if you like.
I go regularly with my family.

Good luck!

I'm a regular at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd (RC) for the Sunset Mass.
Goatboy will always cherish his former goatgirl.
But the world is full of fluffier ones.

Hi Abbey,

If you are attending LightHouse in Tampines, do come for a visit at Chapel Of Christ The Redeemer (CCR), it's just opposite your church. :D

I'm from CCR, a very, very family-oriented church. :)

Hi Abby113,

I had been a church hopping Christian for many years and know many churches but the only church which appeals to me is New Creation Church.

I have been faithfully attending the church for close to a year now. The teaching is good.

I had been to City Harvest too. I would like to bring you to the church, if you fancy going there.

Do let me know.

God bless!
