Baby Products - For Nappy Rashes - Which is Better?

Post by wildrose » Sat, 19 Aug 2006 10:55 pm

Hi,

I have heard that California Baby Products are good for preventing or treating nappy rashes.

Some have informed me Weleda is even much more effective.

Does anyone have any experience using these products?

Please advice.

Thanks, Wildrose

Anything with Zinc Oxide is best. I use a product from the U.S. with 16% Zinc Oxide (called Boudreaux's Butt Paste), but there are many other products with this same active ingredient.

Zinc oxide...

I always used Penaten... worked like a charm. That said, sometimes the rash can turn into more and in that case it always required something stronger. Our doctor presrcibed some sort of cortisone creme. That would always do the trick.

Zinc oxide is really a preventative. It keeps the bottom dry.

I've been using drapolene for preventing nappy rashes meanwhile my Doctor recommend Savlon antiseptic cream by johnson&johnson or Dermoplex Calamine Lotion for treating nappy rashes. Depending on the seriousness of the rashes.

i would recommend desitin creamy.. it works wonders on my son's butt.. maybe it is because of the zinc oxide content. and i got stuck to this brand thereafter. :D
It was highly recommended to me by my pd n i used to get it @ $14 for a 2oz tube from her. now i found another source to get the 4oz tube with the same price, including postage..
