NTUC Fitness going DIY

Postby wkh » Wed, 09 Aug 2006 11:28 am

Just like to get your opinions on the safety aspect.

NTUC has a few gyms in Singapore. Due to cost cutting factors, some of their gyms have gone half day DIY. There will not be any certified and experience person on duty. They are using biometrics for members to access the facility (by way of thumb print).

The questions are :

1. If you are new to exercise would you join?

2. Would you feel safe to allow your elderly parents to do it on their own without supervision?

3. During the absence of the instructor, if a mishap happens would you as a fellow member be able to react and provide assistance?

4. If there is a dispute between two members of whom you are not acquainted to, would you step in to maintain peace?

Hope to hear from all of you as I would like to put this issue in the Straits Times Forum.
