Looking for a bicycle

Post by Ice Pirate » Thu, 03 Aug 2006 1:43 am

Although I am not there yet. Once I do arrive, I would like to buy a bicycle to get around on. Yes, I know the heat is oppressive. But, I need to loose some weight anyway. Not wanting the latest and greatest wiz-bang bike. Just something to move me from place to place. Does anyone know a bicylce shop along the East Coast? Specifically Upper East Coast Rd and Bedok Rd?

Cheers!

Ice,

There is a bike shop a block away from the intersection of East Coast Road and Bedok South Road. It is called Rodalink.

You can also check out the local bike forum called ToGoParts.Com. The list the bike shops around Singapore. There is also a Marketplace section for buying and selling used bikes.

Good luck with your move to Singapore.

Don't know the name, but besides the previously mentioned Rodalink (?), there is another along East Coast Rd. in the strip shops with The Big Fish and Pasta Fresca. This is closer to the Siglap area.

There shld be at least one or two shops selling bicycle in most estates. U can even get one from the other side of the island (west) and get them to send it over to u. Of cos, alternatively, u can get one at a shop near your new place, and then ride home.

I just bought a bike for $83 from a bike shop on the corner of Geylang Rd and Paya Lebar Rd, near City Plaza. It has no gears but all I wanted it for was cycling on the east coast park and going to the shops. East coast park being pretty flat, it is fine without gears for that.
