Require direction

Postby apsara » Tue, 01 Aug 2006 9:20 pm

Bros,

I am exhausted...despite having MBA and 7 yrs exp in media sales...absolutely NO response from any of the consultants. Ofcourse, I have only registered in various online agencies and have given them a call but they always have the automated response: will call you back, thank uuuuuu, b byeeeee. and ofcourse, that NEVER happens  It's been so frustrating. I've tried for a year now and am very very dejected, my pride is hurt beyond measure

Anybody knows any consultancies that specialise in Media jobs or any other approach that works in this country? Please help...and thanks in advance.

Singapore is a fairly closed, networked city. Everybody knows everybody and it is hard to make a break into the network.

There are lots of people who can do media sales in the local population. That fact alone may be keeping you out... why hassle with an employment permit when local talent is available?

You'll need some special, distinguishing characteristic and a new method of search. Find a list of companies with offices here. Research their media needs. You'll probably want to look at multi nationals as local firms are much more closed to foreigners. But, with MNC's you can also research contact names, etc.

You'd waited a year for them to call back?
For someone with a MBA and 7 years of experience, it's hard to understand why would you not want to go down to the agencies yourself?
