Upper Club in Chimes

Anyone been to Upper Club in Chimes?

I was there on the weekend and that place looked very strange to me ... most of the couples doing ballroom /tango dancing in the dance floor were women in their 40s or 50s dancing with men who looked to be in their late 20s or early 30s.

Any take on this one?

Ahhh, The Upper Club . . . ballroom dance rendezvous for the well-heeled

They would be the tai tais accompanied by dance instructors (DIs) from the Philippines. DIs are the norm in Manila's ballrooms but not so locally. These DIs have gone through formal dance training in international standard ballroom dancing and several are excellent competitive dancers.

Alas, it's quite apparent that the golden gals who started dancing somewhat later in life have a lot of catching up to do . . .
