Solarv,
You had best write to the airline's medical department or possibly the CAAS if you are living in Singapore, a free forum an unsuitable place to gain the information you seek.

Here's one website which is run by a pilot and can at least point you in the right direction;

What's a First Officer?
Goatboy will always cherish his former goatgirl.
But the world is full of fluffier ones.

Hi,

I've a good friend who recently went for Lasik. He's checked out with SIA before the operation - it is acceptable, but they require a certain buffer period before he is eligible to apply and undergo training. You should call on the airline offices that you're keen to work with to check out the details.

yup the buffer period is needed... i believe it's 6mths? But, SIA also looks at your pre-Lasik degree. If it was too high (in the region of 600+) SIA may still reject.

If however your eyesight is arnd 300deg or less, don't bother gg for LAsik bec this is still within the requirements. Lasik isn't something which is very supported in aviation yet bec of its unknown long term effects.

buffer period is 12 months for SIA.
