Hi,

if I get 6500€ per month for my job in Germany, what can I expect when my company sends me over to Singapore?

Is it just the multiplication with 2 and that's it or what is your experience? Or do the companies usually reduce the salary, because you need less money for living? Thanks for all infos you have, I might need it for negotiation.

It all depends on your negotiation skills... your company is certainly going to try the "lower living costs" card, to which you can reply with the "complete lack of welfare net", "no medical care", "no retirement fund", "high car and housing expenses" and "difficult Asian culture" royal flush.

But in general it's never a good idea to accept a pay cut when moving overseas; how will you get the salary back if/when you go back?
