Commuting from Costa Rhu and Tanjong Rhu road area?

Post by Schbang » Sun, 23 Jul 2006 5:40 pm

Hi, I've been here for almost 1 week now, a single guy staying for 2yrs, and have seen about 10 apartments. A partly furnished 2 bed Costa Rhu apartment, going for 2k, which suits my budget, is the best so far. I'm trying to weigh up the pro and cons, as it isn't close to the MRT, as I had wished, but rather has easy access to the ECP for cycling and blading - a strong draw.

My question is to any of you that live or know of others that live in the Tanjong Rhu road area. How do you find the journey into the CBD (Raffles Place), are the shuttle buses reliable, crowded, frequent enough? And how about the public buses into the CBD from here? Are taxi's readily available around here?

Thanks for you help in advance.

Also the follow extract is from the 'Condos near MRT' page on the site, but when I asked the management offed at Costa Rhu (and at Kallang MRT) they knew nothing about this shuttle, advising that a public bus to Aljunied, which took 20mins and had no aircon, was the only route to the MRT???

EW10 Kallang
Nearest condo is the Canne Ville. You need to take a 8 min shuttle bus ride to Tanjong Rhu Road, where many resort condominiums are located. Like The Waterside, Pebble Bay, Sanctuary Green, Water Place, Casuarina Cove, Tanjong Ria, Camelot, and Costa Rhu.

Yes, thanks for the suggestion, I have viewed in this area and found that you get considerably less condo/facilities for you money, or sit on a busy noisy road, without the benefits of park and coast nearby. I'm sold on this area just need reassuring re the available transport.
