Advice on where to live please !

We are moving to Singapore in 3 months time and are looking for a house for the family (us and our 2 kids aged 3 years and 1 month !). We need a 4 bedroom house, ideally with a reasonable sized garden. Have seen various real estate websites with a bewildering array of property and places to live. Can you help ?! Recommendations on areas to live plus what we can expect for our budget (around $6000 per month).

You should consider the workplace location and school location and then get inbetween but much closer to the school, and close to bus stops and/or train stations, if you're using public transport, which is very good here. Taxi's are also pretty cheap, but prices keep going up. After you figure out those 2 locations, zero in on those properties nearby that are the type, size, and within the budget of your family. Have an agent help you. Some people find a temporary place to stay once they first arrive, so they can look for themselves...and find something that is perfect for your family. The garden may be a bit harder to find. No place is perfect, so be flexible. If you don't see somthing you need, ask the agent or owner, and they may provide for you. There are lots of offerings within your budget.

Thanks Abigail. We are going to stay in a Serviced Apartment initially (for a month or so), sort out the school, get settled in and then start to think about locations to live. Thinking probably Holland, Bukit, Dunearn areas currently.

I vote Watten Estates... might be able to grab a semi detached in your price range... depends if you want a condo or a house.
