Do wood items require fumigation when moving to US?

Hi,
All we are taking to the US in terms of furniture are a couple of chairs from IKEA. Does anyone know if it requires fumigation ? We get conflicting information from various shippers in Singapore and US. Some say that wood from China needs fumigation, but not from Singapore. Does anyone know for sure? This stuff is not even solid wood. It's what one would call Manufactured Wood.
