Teaching CPR

Post by thavab » Sat, 15 Jul 2006 6:04 pm

I am a Certified CPR Trainer. Back home not many people are interested to understand CPR. We have tried so many ways to promote CPR but not very successful. How do you guys over there promote CPR to the general public? What are the problems you face in doing this & how do you handle them? Appreciate the feedback, txn.

hi thavab,

CPR is taught in many schools in singapore especially in the girl guides, boy scouts, red cross and other school-based uniformed groups. so many people aware of it from a young age. some swimming courses also highlight the importance of CPR and i'm sure it's part of the certification to be a swimming instructor. i think i've seen some posters in hospitals showing the steps taken in CPR. when drowning incidents happen in private or public pools the media usually reports that CPR was done in an attempt to save a life, whether successful or not.

so here it's a concerted multi-pronged approach. singapore is surrounded by water and we've had enough drowning incidents that most people are aware of it.

Thanks a lot for this, I need to know extra about CPR, due to the fact I recognize a mobile CPR training in California. they offer American heart affiliation or EMS safety CPR training also CPR card. AED use and operation is protected in the CPR training.
