SHIFT FROM RETAIL BANKING TO PRIVATE BANKING-NEED SOME HELP!

Post by m2006 » Thu, 13 Jul 2006 7:46 pm

Hi I am a Filipino-Chinese professional who moved in here a little more than a year ago. I used to work for the government in my country as a civil servant. However, in order for me to land a job here i shifted to financial services. I am currently employed by one of the largest bank here since Jan 2005 on an entry level position. I feel that i can do more taking into consideration my educational qualification and previous training and experience in handling high net worth individuals both locally and abroad. Now, that i have adequate banking experience i am contemplating of shifting to private banking or wealth management career. I am confident that i can contribute more if given a chance.

I would really appreciate if anybody from here can be of assistance on how to go about it, effectively.

Thank you very much in advance for your goodwill.

If you joined in Jan 2005 at an entry level
1.6 yrs cant really be considered "adequate" experience to be a good Private Banker unless you had similar experience back home in Phil.

Private Banking/Wealth Management roles require someone with a large pool of current and potential clients and of course an understanding of financial instruments.

Send me a PM, I'll see how i can direct you to the right people/places.
