British / International schools in Singapore

Post by Saturn99 » Thu, 13 Jul 2006 6:26 pm

I am moving to Singapore at the end of August with my husband and two children - they are 4 and 2 and we are currently deciding on schools.

We really want my daughter to go to Tanglin but will not get a place to earliest April - so in hte meantime we want to send her to another school and we are considering Dover Court - does anyone know anything about it - and does anyone have any experience of switching children schools that early.
Also I have a two year old and am considering sending him to white lodge or to Naris Stella (not sure about the spelling) - does anyone have any experince of these? Thanks Siobhan

Dover Court is a nice small International School with very nice teachers. It also has integrated special needs classes as well. It is a very friendly school and all the staff are good. My boys (5 & 10) both attend DC and enjoy it.

As for swapping schools I think most (all?) int. schools require a full terms notice before doing so or you lose your deposit (which is normally a terms fees). (eg If you want to withdraw at the end of Trinity term, then you need to advise them during the first week of Trinity term...does that make sense?) DC school terms pretty much run alongside Tanglins.

Good luck with the move. :)
