IR REMOTE CODES FOR SCV DIGITAL STB

Post by bigfilsing » Mon, 10 Jul 2006 3:07 pm

Hi Guys, Does anybody have the IR codes for the SCV set top box.
I want to program the remote of my Sony reciever to operate the SCV box. ( it doesn;t have a learning function) I think it should be a 5 digit code.
Failing that does anybody know the make and model number of the box. Maybe i can contact the manufacturer for the info.

Cheers

Judging by the experience of others I think you are going to have a hard time (and calling starhub will be a waste of time).

You need a remote with learning capability.

update:
Although there was one interesting post that might help.

We now have an upgrade for an ADB box, model ABQ-1H57-SCV, which could well work with the Starhub also:

I had a look at the file and it doesn't make much sense - but there are codes in there so maybe you want to try those.

Did you ever get a reply to this and get it to work? I now have a similar issue with my STB since I upgraded to Digital yesterday. I've previously been able to control the analog (max) STB with an upgrade to my B&O TV called STB-C but it doesn't work for the latest digital box (yet). I found the
source code for the SCV remote through an internet search, as follows:

http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sta ... Q-1H57-SCV

# this config file was automatically generated

# devices being controlled by this remote: Starhub ABQ-1H57-SCV STB

buy a B&O tv then, you wont regret it and it's infinitely upgradeable, regardless of age (mine's 7 years old and being upgraded this week). I also control my PC music via my B&O remote streaming music wirelessly to my B&O stereo which is connected to the tv both in living room and bedroom - works very nicely.
Singapore is great!
