Any good pre-nursery kindergarten to recommend?

Post by justinmon » Mon, 10 Jul 2006 11:20 am

Hi fellow parents,

We are returning to Singapore early next year with our 2-year old kid. In Hong Kong, kid of age 2 can be admitted to pre-nursery. Is it the same in SG? If yes, any good recommendations for baby Justin? We prefer to put him in foreign schools. BTW, he got PR status. :P

Thanks in advance!

Kids here can be admitted for pre-nursery/nursery from 18 mths onwards.

What's your preferred location and budget ?

Hi there,

Thanks for prompt reply. He will turn to 2 this Nov. For location, we are not sure yet. We might live in East Coast or near Newton area. For price, originally we will put him to study in Lingnam kinder and it costs around HK$2,300 per month. So I guess about this is S$500. So, any good suggestion?

Million thanks!

If u live in Newton, u cld send Justin to Eton House

It may be a little over your budget but it is one of the prefered preschools for expats.

My daughter goes to a montessori called Little Woods which is again at newton and I am extremely happy with them and it is also within your budget.

hi...i visited little woods and casa bambini which is also along newton road.
since ur daughter goes to little woods, i would like to know how u find the teachers there and the overall enviroment. i feel like the house is rather old and the teaching materials seem a little worn. however i will stioll consider it if they are really good. how old is ur daughter?

My daughter is almost 4 years old and has been going to Little Woods since the last 1.5 years. The best part of Little woods is that their teachers are superb and children really enjoy themselves. However for age 2 you may not see much progress but by next year u will be shocked to see your child's progress. But my daughter is not even 4 and she can read 3-4 letter words already.

Well the above may be true for other montessories too but I can only talk about little woods!

But unfortunately I am moving my child from Little woods as they do not offer to teach Indian languages and hence we plan to put her in an Indian school.
