Hi fellowparents
Kind of bored with Singapore. Any suggestions on what to do on a weekend with my kids? a 10yr old gal and 11 yr old boy...
I am looking something educational and fun. I have been to science ctr, and the usual places..

Any new place to share? thanks.

Fire station

How about the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery located at the old central fire station? Kids love fire stations & trucks. You can google for the location if you are unsure of where it is.

Someone suggested to me the frog farm
Anyone has been there? Is it good?

It's OK if you like big fat frogs and lots of them. It is certainly different and good for an hour or so's entertainment.

Have you checked out the book Fun in Singapore? It has a lot of ideas etc in it...not sure if they have a new edition out or not, ours is probably a year or more old now. It is brought out by Mighty Minds (the street directory people) and has lots of info in it and opening times and of course addresses and maps.

Does anyone know when the Discovery Centre is going to reopen? It was going to be last November then they said March, and now it is July and it is still not open...anyone heard any rumours?

8-) try the west coast park. there is a huge playground and macdonald nearby. hubby flys kite while mum play with the kids at the playground.

you can kick a ball there, rollerblade, cycle etc. just like east coast park but not so crowded.

The Night Safari is quite enjoyable. An alternative is a weekend drive up to Malaysia. There are some lovely beaches off the east coast of Johor. Tioman and the surrounding islands are great for fishing/snorkelling. There is quite a bit of info on the internet.
