Moving to Singapore from Perth - quarantine rules?

Post by veridian5 » Thu, 06 Jul 2006 1:51 pm

I'm investigating moving from Perth to Singapore, however, we have 3 cats.

I noticed on one of the information pages it states that the animals have to be in quarantine for 30days UNLESS they are from UK/America/Australia or New Zealand. Does this mean cats from Australia are exempt or do they have to be in quarantine for longer?

I'm not sure if it makes any difference but the cats have never been outside so they wouldn't have any diseases.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has done this before and the experience they had. I think the cats would be ok but they do get stressed with noises and new people.

Thanks for the help.

No quarantine for cats but you have to make sure all of their shots are up to date and they have to have a ghonnorea (?) shot too. Keep in mind it will be different going the other way.

It is as uk-kiwi said, no quarantine coming in to Singapore, as long as they have their shots up to date (there is a minimum requirement from date of last shot too, similar to boarding requirements) they will be allowed in without quarantine.

Going back they will be subject to 30 days quarantine in Australia if you go direct from Singapore. Good luck with your move.
