Serviced Apartment Recommendations -- Any Advice Please?

Post by HJC » Tue, 04 Jul 2006 1:47 am

Hello!

We are moving to Singapore, arriving on August 2nd. We are very excited about the move, but are having trouble finding a good-quality Serviced Apartment to stay in for a month while we locate more permanent housing. We were told that Treetops would be perfect but it is completely full. We have a Toddler and my husband will be out of the country quite a bit that first month so I'd love to be close enough to walk to Orchard Road and so my son and I can get around a bit. Can anyone please kindly advise Serviced Apartments similar to Treetops that we might consider? How about the Shangri-La Serviced Apartments?

Thank you so very much!
:)

Dear Kimm,

Thank you so much!

May I please ask -- of the four you listed, do you think one might be more suitable for a Toddler than the others?

Thank you again!

honestly, all treatment are equal in any Service Apartment cos it
depends on yourself.Your may at time find yourself in a awkward
position, but I do believed that the staffs shall and will help you in
anyways they can.It a give and take kinds of situations.
For easy movement round orchard,I guess ascott could have suit
you fine as it just near where the MRT,food counts, great shopping
malls, bus and taxi service just at the door steps.
So,are you find a condo to stay and where is the location?
Try the east coast side of singapore.Again transport may be a
problems if your hubby working in the business dist.Other wise
is great.

You can try Plaza pacific or concourse. They are really good Service Apartments located on beach road. Walking distance to city area. Bugis/City hall Mrt and Suntec city

Hi, Not sure about the others but we stayed in Le Grove when we first got here and it was a great place for my 18mth old. Quite small and friendly, good breakfast room where he could get down from his chair and wander to a large reception where people were very relaxed about him milling about. I used to walk to Orchard for the exercise, it's about 7 mins further than Treetops to Orchard (full when we looked too) and about 3 mins further than Shangri La. Shangri La was ok, but the apartments are v. small compared to Le Grove and also you have to take your laundry to a different room and pay whereas at LG it's in your kitchen. Can i just say (sorry Godmode) that Beach road is not a great place to stay with a toddler who is probably still in buggy / pushchair. We stayed in a hotel just near Suntec and it was a nightmare. You will discover that Sing is not too pushchair friendly and that is an area where often there are no lights so you have to cross foot bridges with stairs or go down tunnels with no ramps...nightmare.

Forgot to mention, most of the Serviced Apartments have shuttle buses that take you to the main central areas if you don't feel like the walk. Tanglin Mall, Suntec etc.

WE LOVED GREAT WORLD

Post by Mirandouli » Tue, 04 Jul 2006 8:10 pm

We stayed at Great world City and loved it. It's not near Orchard but has regular direct shuttles. Greatest thing about Great world City is the toddler facilities. My 4 year old loved the super play equipment - not boring slides like most places, but state of the art equipment - covered so usable even in rain, and the indoor playrooms have different level kid's facilities and equipment. Other advantage is you have direct access to supermarket and mall (accessible through car park if raining) or easy path to mall - with every conceivable shop - excellent for when getting start up things like plugs, adapters etc etc. Also temporary Nursery Care can be arranged through Kinderland in Mall. So has a lot going for it. Just another option if all the Orchard Road ones are booked.
