Flat sharing in Singapore
Flat sharing in Singapore
Hi, I'm 24/single/f and will be relocating to Singapore for work in 1 or 2 month's time. My office is located in the central business district and I've been looking for reasonable rooms for rent. I see a lot of people requesting and offering common rooms for rent on this site. Can someone tell me what this is? Do you basically rent a dining room or living room and turn it into a bedroom? No privacy I'm assuming? I have no idea why this would be attractive to some.. enlighten me pls. If it's not as bad as i think, then maybe i'll start considering this option.
Apartment sharing
It means you'll have your own bedroom either common room (without an attached bathroom) or master bedroom (with an attached bathroom), and you share the common area like dining, living room and kitchen.
It's co-sharing of a flat.
It's attractive to some people because it saves them money compared to renting the whole place all by yourself.

Re: Flat sharing in Singapore
Think you misunderstand "common rooms". They don't really refer to dining room or living room, but bed rooms, in general. Oh yes, all flat mates have to share dining room and living room.Suriya wrote:Hi, I'm 24/single/f and will be relocating to Singapore for work in 1 or 2 month's time. Some cases, yes, some people are willing to live in living room. In this case, yes, totally no privacy coz they will sleep on sofa (I think), their belongs are also in the living room. However, their rent might be just half of normal rent.Suriya wrote: Do you basically rent a dining room or living room and turn it into a bedroom? No privacy I'm assuming? Hope it clarifies.
