SLOW COMPUTER

Post by alvaro » Fri, 30 Jun 2006 12:08 am

To the experts out there...
My desktop is really slow these days but I dont think is because memory is too full. Is there any software which can check and repair whatever is working wrong inside? Or anything I can do?As you can easily deduct for what I just wrote my IT knowledge is close to 0 :( ...Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Cheers!

Also, try downloading and running ccleaner.

Hi.

I am no expert, but understand that slowness in pc could be due to a number of issues, one of them being too many "rubbish" cluttered up inside. "Rubbish" being unused files, temp internet files, whatever.

I heard its good housekeeping practice to take the garbage out periodically :)

Anyway, you might want to try the following steps :
1) Go "Accessories"
2) Click on "System Tools"
3) Select "Disk Cleanup"

Hope it helps.

Run ccleaner instead. It's MUCH faster and more comprehensive than the Windows built-in utility. Also, CCLeaner allows you to clean up the windows registry.
