It seems like some nightmare, to me at least, because i know I'm not ACADEMICALLY qualified.
Anyway, aren't you going for the interview?
I am not prepared so will not attend this coming weekend interview.. i shall wait for the next recruitment intake.

sorry. may i know what is the reason that you are not prepare yet and wont be attending for the interview. since its like that, guess i also not that prepare too. then i should also wait for their next recruitment too.
Chai Ching,
I've only got 3 Os, and a cert in higher Nitec Business admin. I know many people see ite cert as nothing, but what they don't know is that a higher nitec cert is the foundation study to get straight into a local poly yr 2. And with low GPA, to Poly first yr then, but at least it is still equivalent to 5 Os. As we do modules like marketing fundamental, Public relations and business communications. I guess that's what most of the big companies and public don't see, and never will.
I'm still feeling very fickle about tmr's interview, BUT i WILL go for it. Because i believe i can. so don't give up ppl, perseverance brings success!

no, they didn't. they asked me about customer service and how i see customer service and bad service. Mostly on work and customer service related stuff. And it goes like reading of passage, and of course the typical interview Q, Why we should hire you? Haha..

Will you be going alone by yourself? Thats great and good that you have the spirit and motivation. Yup you are right. To others, maybe they think and see that ITE cert is nothing.

Re: DOES SIA accepts private diploma?
hi lolitaa, lolitaa wrote:Hi, can any SIA FA or friends of theirs help me with this. Do they accept private course which is related (Travel & tourism dip) to the travel industry.
I was about to sign up for a private diploma course i got rejected by SIA after passing all the interviews ( i even went for the medical c/up) (april recruitment), probably because they don't accept ite cert and I've only got 3 O level credits. I was heartbroken, so i thought i should go back with a private diploma, until i saw the recent recruitment emphasizing on diplomas from LOCAL POLY.
Please someone help me with this, I'm lost.
did they tell u why they rejected u? (since u've already passed all the rds til the medical check-up) is it coz of medical problem?
and how they rejected u? called u up and said so?

Oh Lolitaa, pretty sad to see what you have typed. But i personally feel sorry for you. I reckon SIA shouldn't have waste your time to clear so many rounds of interview and even reached to the stage of medical check-up. If the management knew you do not fit into their bill because of qualification. Right from the start, they should have rejected you. Why delay till you gone for the check-up??? That's ridiculous..lolitaa wrote:I cant believe that the CCE called me. I was not wrong at all, i got rejected because of my qualifications. I'm not angry, but glad, because at least SIA did not leave me wondering. =)

Ya, it really made us feel terrible. But at the brighter side, they are still kind enough to share with us the reason for the rejection, some of the girls who got rejected never knew what went wrong cause the management simply answered, "sorry, it's private and confidential". That's what I heard from a friend who's mates got rejected.
Well, I guess we'll just have to learn to pick ourselves up from there and start life all over again, it may be a new chapter, but it may also be more beautiful, we'll never know until we try. As for me, it at least gave me a clue how to start about my plans to get into SIA, and not be so paranoid thinking if I'm medically unfit or have a face that the CCE didn't approve of! Haha, that's lame.
