Dragon Boat

Post by fflloorreenntt » Tue, 27 Jun 2006 2:42 pm

Folks,

Any advice on how to start dragon boat training?

I am French, and would really like to start - but am really a beginner and probably won't be able to attend all trainings...

Are there any initiations? other ideas?

Thanks,

fflloorreenntt

Simple, just turn up at the training session of any one of the following teams and jump right in. Beginners are accepted any time and nationality of rowers are not limited to those corresponding to the team’s name. Try out a few teams until you find one whose teammates you can click with.

However, to prevent intense embarrassment to oneself, perhaps doing 100 pushups each day and practising on the rowing machine at the gym beforehand might help. :P

Have no fear, fflloorreenntt! Picking up dragon boating is really easy and you can start by coming down this weekend 1st and 2nd July at the bedok Reservoir. Enjoy the festive racing atmosphere and socialize with the competiting paddlers. Most of the teams will be there and just ask around!
