work for american attorneys? need some guidance.

hey there, and first off, thanks for reading, because any help would be much appreciated. my husband is moving here while i finish law school so we can be together, but we have no clue as to where to begin. finding a job, the myriad of permits and forms required, finding a place... we have a LOT to do. help from american citizens and foreign-trained attorneys would be particularly useful, (not to sideline anyone else!)
