Hi,

I've been to hong kong. I was staying at North Point Hotel which is on the main island. It's in a business district but it didn't matter because the island is so small and the transport efficient & quick. The hotel room was nice. However bear in mind that all the hotel rooms are small in HK. they try to maximise the space!

Actually I am selling my lonely planet HK at $11 (actual price is $21). It's brand new and has been used once only. It's really good. It has maps, eating areas, all the major shopping places and places to visit. If you are interested could you email me at [email protected] ? i can meet up with you and pass it on. :-)

Some good shopping in Causeway Bay (actually lived there for a year).

What do you regards as cheap? you can pay between $200 to $2000 HKD.
