P2 VS Q1

Post by fx8fx » Thu, 22 Jun 2006 6:59 pm

I just obtain the approval from MOM for my EP application.

But it's Q1 , even my salary is more than 3500 and job is Chief Rep of our Rep office at Singapore .

The difference for me is Q1 can not sponsor "Long-Term Social Visit Passes
" for my parent.

Any comments why MOM does not grant P2 for me ?

Thanks a lot

whether that's because of Rep office ?

can i submit an application again ?

anyway, MOM is very efficient , it's approved within 3 days after receiving my supporting documents.

I've yet to find out what the exact difference is for granting P2 and Q1. For your juicy information, this lousy firm applied for a Q1 for me, but MOM gave me a P2? How does that happen?

I dont think it will be because of the rep office,

My Company are only a registered Sales office here in Sing with International Enterprise and they gave me a P1 pass.

I have heard however that the reason for issueing different grades of passes is not always about the job and the money, Nationallity I believe has something to do with it. (I so much hope the person that told me this is wrong though!!!!)

I employed an expat from India, (she has a management role within the company and salary is way more than the requirments but she has only been issued a Q pass also.

Very Strange

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your info.

Do you means your staff 's net salary is higher than P2's (3500 ) and decent degree also , but still issue Q pass ?

I'm from China , mba and head of this Rep Office ( approved by IE singapore ) ,dont expect my nationality is only Qualified to Q pass :)

Anyone have experience to appeal a P2 based on Q1 ?

Yes her salary is higher than the requirement of 3500 sing and she holds 3 degrees,

Funny thing is I dont hold any degrees. ( I am also the 'head' of our rep office) but they issued me P1

Very strange my friend you need to discuss with MOM i think,

She is Indian

it's really confused.

mom grant Q1 to me within 1 week of receiving my supporting documents, and mom's phone officer told me i could appeal for an upgrade from Q1 to P2. wonder any friends have such successful experience.
