Bring it to the HP/compaq repair center at Alexandria.

I've called them from my office, they ask me to call them again when I'm next to my pc, so they can guide me what to do next before I send it for repair.
Thanks for your reply

Knocking sound ...soundsmore like a fan or your hard disk.
Start by taking the cover of and trying to locate the noise,
I heard hard disk produce a knocking noise before. The read write head gets stuck and hits the end of it's travel only return to park and try again. hence the knock.
Don;t ask me how i know but i've got a screw driver for everything.
As a rule things won;t get better on their own. If you can get any access at all to the PC i'd start backing up stuff pronto before it dies.
Good luck
