Best of its kind in Singapore

Got to agree that Chicago School is the best of the lot in Singapore
But check the enrolment and faculty for the year you intend to take it
If the numbers are down then the fun may be down
Most of the fun is in being involved in syndicate work, sparring wars and all

Internet Based MBAs

Post by PhantomX » Sat, 14 Aug 2004 1:49 am

Well the cheapest ones are internet based with little face to face interaction
There's one by Universitas Global 2000 a consortium of 17 universities in the UK Canada Australia,Hong Kong and Singapore
Its got a fairly good curriculum and faculty but its on the pricier end of the net based courses at about $17k after discount
Courses cheaper than that can be found among those offered by AUstralian universities eg Southern Cross which i think checks in at 10k
ANything cheaper than that you'll have to check the credentials of the instituion. No use getting a cheap degree that is not degree that is not recognised

INSEAD has a campus here. Don't know how expensive they are, but as someone else noted, if you want a real MBA that is actually going to do something to help your career, you're going to have to go to a real school and shell out the big bucks - if you are smart and driven, it will pay off for you in the future. Good Luck.

As rightly mentioned, an MBA is all about learning from the group interaction more than from books. Its also buying into a successsful alumni ie. your future contacts.

Insead is not cheap but they have 2 intakes in either Jan or Sept. Last known cost was Euro45k for fees alone. It is the only 1 year programme that is ranked in the top 5. Insead

Yep, Insead always get a nod of approval by prospective employers. Also has good networking and career management services.
