StarHub sim card for cellphone

Post by farang » Mon, 12 Jun 2006 6:17 pm

Hi!

I have just moved to Singapore and will be for 1 year or 2 - I need to get a Singapore cellphone number - it needs to be a Starhub number since my company is a partner. It will be a company phone, but since we are a small office I will have to take care of it my self. Since I have a quite new phone, I was thinking of just buying the simcard. Where can I find that? and what would be the best, to get a prepaid card sort of a thing, or a subscrition? I will probably use it quite often, call international, and need it to work in the whole Asia region - also i need to be able to receive emails on the phone. Can anyone please advice!

TIA!

I think if you go into a Starhub shop, they're all over, they'll help you sign up for a contract. The amount of use you will have, it would be best for a contract instead of having to top up all the time. If you are planning to use it outside Singapore you will need roaming and that isn't available with just a simcard. Just my personnal opinion.

Hi, with your usage, i will advise you to go for the post-paid, instead of pre-paid. There are many kind of packages to suit different needs.. Pick your choice! :D http://www.starhub.com/mobile/mobileser ... html#voice

If you need a new hp, you can sign up with their 2yrs contract, then you can buy a new hp at a subsidized rate. If you do not need a new hp, then you can just sign up a line, without having any contract. Free & easy!

Yep just go to the starhub shops, they will sign you up with a sim card on the spot. You will need your IC (or whatever you want to call it). You can pick and choose whatever plan is easy for you, no need to sign up for any particular period as you are not taking a new phone. I did just that, it was easy, have access to all.
