International Schools and IB curriculum

Post by taikoo » Mon, 12 Jun 2006 11:38 am

We will soon be relocating to Singapore.

My children aged 15 and 9 are currently studying in International Schools in Hong Kong.

- Any suggestions on International Schools with IB curriculum for my elder child?

- For younger child too I am looking for IB curriculum but in a reasonably cheaper International School

Appreciate advises/suggestions from the members here...

Hi, I have my ward studying at Canadian International School. I have quite good relationship with the administrative staff there. For international students, I believe the fees are still quite ok.

Pal, is the previous poster legal on this forum? I'm probably wrong and apologise if I am.

IB schools grades 1-12 are: OFS, ISS, and Canadian. There are other schools, but they may not start with PYP, MYP, etc. Again, I apologise if I am misinformed.

Do you wish to consider local International Schools too? One of my other ward is with a local International School and he is doing well there. The school is doing iGCSE though, not too sure whether it is close to the IB Program. The other whom I have close contact with offers the IBDP Program, which is slightly higher than the previous.

taikoo:
FYI--OFS and ISS are right next door to each other. I didn't know this until I showed up for a tour at OFS. Of course I scheduled a tour with OFS in the a.m. and ISS after lunch. Hated having to kill time, if I'd known I could have done both tours in the morning. Just thought that might help you out!

Matney,

Thanks for the additional info...will keep in mind while scheduling my tour with both of them...

btw, do you have any information on how good is EtonHouse International School? I am likely to choose this one for my younger son as it is a bit cheaper than OFS or CIS...

Never used it myself, but there are several families at our condo who have sent their children there for quite some time. Must not be too bad.
