hi! has anyone tried like the restaurants atp Mount Faber? There's Glasse Bar and Altivo... I heard they're good, perfect for a romantic dinner and gazing at the strs after that!

there are indeed many romantic places in singapore..

hmm..i've tried some restaurants which i think is quite romantic..

1) breeze @ the scarlet hotel. its at erskine road near club street. the restaurant is located on the rooftop of the hotel. firstly, the hotel itself is kinda cool. boutique hotel. so perhaps u can book a night there?

2) the cliff @ sentosa spa and resort. like someone in the thread mentioned earlier, if u booked early, u can get a table with a nice view of the waters...

3) il lido @ sentosa golf club. also has a nice view of the sea and even the surrounding islands on a clear day.

the thing with sentosa, after ur meal, u can take walk down the beaches jus the 2 of you.. its pretty quiet at nite.. or if u want some dancing and some activity, there's a few bars at siloso beach. but i prefer tanjong beach's km8. have seen a few expats here before..

4) plus u can try the restaurants at robertson quay or mohamed sultan.. after that, the 2 of u can have a quiet time walking down robertson quay or something. its pretty quiet compared to clarke quay or boat quay..

tell us how it went ya? :)

been to the holiday inn at batam a few times.. well, to me there's nothing much in batam. my company had this mini trip there to r&r. the spa services there are not bad either.. try the couple packages..

Your comments on Sentosa are my experience as well... sadly, every time I have been there (staying at the Beaufort) I have been alone. I am looking forward to taking my wife there when we get to Singapore...

Can I ask what you do on an unromantic evening? :o

My top pick is still Halia in the Botanical Gardens. Au Jardin Les Amis is a bit too pretentious for me, but hey, if you're feeling loaded...

All you really need for romance is a place that makes you feel confortable and inspires conversation. So it doesnt really matter how much you spend... Here are some places and suggestions for romantic under $30 a person, without wine of course!

Portobelle Restaurant on Killiney Road (You can always head to Barstop which is around the corner for a place to lounge and have some refreshments after)

The Turquoise Room (Restored black & white, which is set in lush surroundings)
